So far the feet may be the most overworked part of the body. From the time we wake up until we get home and sleep, it is being used. And how are your feet today? Are you taking care of it? Every now and then perhaps it would do nice for our feet to have a little luxury and comfort.

Nothing feels better at the end of a long day than a great foot massage. Foot massagers are designed to take the ache away, and not just for your feet. That’s because your feet have loads of accupressure points that when stimulated, make your entire body feel great. A massage is as good a comforter as anything else. There are many demands for health spas and massage centers lately that almost everywhere you go there is always one of these establishments available, and always a great option for a relaxing visit is having a foot massage. That is because of its holistic benefits:

? Leg Cramps and Calf Pain – Increased blood flow and massaging will help release muscle cramp and soothe pain.
? Thighs and Hips – Increasing blood flow to the thighs and hips may help reduce swelling and lessen swelling, pain and stiffness.
? Back Pain – relaxing and stimulating back massage soothes aching tired and overworked muscles.
? Poor Circulation in Feet and Legs – stimulating massage action increases blood flow and muscle activity to the lower extremities.

But having a foot massage everyday is not recommended. That is why people made foot massagers, equipments that enable us to have a quick and relaxing massage to our feet everyday. Their and quick relief has given comfort in almost anyplace, anytime. And they are made portable and handy, you can carry them everywhere. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. If you are uncertain whether you can use these products, it is always wise to consult a physician before actually using it.

Survey for DT coursework project about massagers…?
IF YOU’RE NOT GONNA BE SERIOUS, DON’T ANSWER!
I’ve got to make a massager for my product design A level and i’m doing this survey to find out people’s views. I need older people to answer this because I have too many teenager’s answers at the moment. Don’t try saying funny stuff coz you’ll have only wasted 5mins of your life replying to my question. I will submit this in several different areas, so don’t bother telling me it’s in the wrong place. Okay, so…

question 1: what gender are you?

question 2: what age are you?

question 3: what’s most important to you in a product? Rate the following options from 1 to 4 (1 being the most important)…
    a) looks
    b) price
    c) how well it’s made/ good quality materials
    d) if it’s eco-friendly or not

question 4: what style do you identify most with? e.g. minimalism, art deco, new design, futuristic stuff, gothic stuff, luxurious stuff, conservative stuff, ‘green’ stuff etc.

question 5: how many hours do you work a week?

question 6: how many hours do you sleep a week?

question 7: how often do you feel stressed?

question 8: what do you do to relax?

question 9: have you ever had a massager before? if yes – from who & how many times?

question 10: what material would you like a massager to be made from?

question 11: what would you like the massager to do?

question 12: what colour(s) would you like it to be?

question 13: have you ever used a massager before?

question 14: do you have any ailments that would benefit from using a massager e.g. back pain/ foot pain/ carpal tunnel syndrome etc.?
