What are the prices for a couples massage at Elements Therapeutic Massage? My boyfriend is taking me for my birthday and we can’t find the prices online.

Thanks :)

It just depends Pace. Most places offer a 15min, 30min, or a one hour session. They also have an upper body, lower body, (hips and legs), and a full body massage. Be sure to get the prices before you submit to the procedure and they do except tips. Happy Birthday!!!

Wouldn’t it be great if health insurance covered therapeutic massage?

NO, because if health insurance covered that kind of stuff, then it would be A LOT more expensive than it already is.

How to give more pressure with a therapeutic massage?

If there are any massage therapists out there can you tell me the trick to giving deeper massages? I want to help people, but I can’t fix this. What’s the trick?

It all has to do with body mechanics. Lower your table a notch and lean into the body when massaging, this allows you to put your weight behind your arms. Also heating the area up with the use of a heating pad will start to loosen the muscles so that when you start to work on them the pressure you do have will be more beneficial. You could buy a knobble or theracane or any massager that they have the stores and use those to help get into the muscles that work. Even massage therapists use these to help get into stubborn muscles.

How to Give a Deep Therapeutic Massage

Massages are wonderful ways to release stress and tension. Giving a massage is a great way to show affection and relieve a build-up of tension. Next time your mate has had a long day and has aches and pains, try giving a deep therapeutic massage. Follow these steps to give a deep therapeutic massage.

Step 1

Buy essential oil. Aromatherapy has been used for centuries. Some believe that is dates back to the Egyptians. A large part of aromatherapy is the use of essential oils such as peppermint, sandalwood, chamomile, lavender, and eucalyptus. Use one oil or a blend that will work for your mate’s needs.

Step 2

Prepare a massage area. It is best to have a firm place to give your massage. Use a folding table designed for massages, the floor or a firm bed. The area you prepare must be comfortable. Use scented candles to set a therapeutic mood for your mate.

Step 3

Meditate in a quite place and clear your thoughts. In order to give a good massage you must be in the right frame of mind. Quiet your mind as you take deep cleansing breaths.

Step 4

Stretch your body. Preparing your body to give a deep therapeutic massage is essential–your body should be limber and ready to give a massage.

Step 5

Feel the entire body for tension and areas that are tight. Trust your intuition as you glide your hands over your mate.

Step 6

Massage your mate starting at the top and working your way down. Use your fingers to firmly apply pressure to the troubled areas on your mate’s body. Work out any knots with your fingers and the palms of your hands.

Has anyone experienced crying after getting home from a therapeutic body massage?

This was my first professional message. I have arthritis and fibromylagia. I know the massage stimulated my blood circulation and lymph sytem. I weighed 3 pounds less the next morning even though I drank lots of water and had my regular meal. But I was taken aback by how I just started crying. It was like a release of lots of pent up emotion or something. I rarely cry.I felt very relaxed, but the crying surprised me. Has this happened to anyone else? Thank you.
I didn’t see this as a negative thing, in fact I believe it was cleansing. My sister told me she thought it was due to the removal of toxins, I was thinking it may have had more to do with emotioned I had "locked" in my tissues. She disagreed with me. I was more interested in hearing from other people and to know it is "normal". I am certainly going back for another massage.

I have cried DURING a massage. The stress pent up in your muscles is quite literally, stress pent up in your muscles. When it is released, all of the emotions and feelings associated with it are released too. When you "suppress" your emotions, where do you think they go? They don’t disappear :) Good for you, though. It sounds like it was a very GOOD massge for ya. . . Also, strange thoughts flash across my mind when I’m in a massge, like I’m trippin’ on acid or something.
